About Me:
Whitney Beatty has extensive experience in the reality TV space, where she has developed multiple genres of non-fiction programming. She currently serves as Vice President of Development at Mathis Productions at Telepictures, where she controls creative development, creates and generates formats, takes pitches from the entertainment community, produces sizzles and pitches shows to buyers. Their latest, THE MATHIS PROJECT on BET.

Whitney got her start in the entertainment industry at the venerable William Morris Agency as an assistant in Television Business Affairs. Her work handling deals for reality television production companies and showrunners inspired an interest the reality TV world. She then moved to Base Camp Films (FILTHY RICH CATTLE DRIVE, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) where she worked as an assistant, then moved to Associate Producer, Story Producer, and finally Director of Development, working on projects ranging from COLLEGE HOOPS 2K8 to large scale format show SIX DEGREES OF X for Sony Pictures Television International.

Whitney later served as Director of Development at GRB Entertainment (INTERVENTION, SECRET LIFE OF A SOCCER MOM) where she developed a high volume of of non-fiction programming, including doc-reality, documentary, workplace, dating, competition formats, crime and justice, and branded, and developed the show Pick-up Hook-ups which was piloted at CMT.

Whitney graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Theater, then received her MFA in Film Production/Directing from Loyola Marymount University. Her thesis film, Last Chair, won the prestigious DGA Award for Best African American Student Film, and screened at the Cannes Film Festival. She was also chosen as a fellow with two highly competitive programs: the Producers Guild Diversity Workshop and FIND:LA’s Project Involve Independent Filmmakers program.
