Stanley Yung
Producer
What I’m Looking For: DRAMA, THRILLER, HORROR, CRIME, ACTION/ADVENTURE, and TRUE LIFE STORIES with multi-layered characters and a unique twist on genre conventions. Stanley is especially drawn to the vast wealth of untold stories from underrepresented communities with the goal of sharing their experiences as mainstream scripted film and TV projects.
About Me:
Stanley considers himself a visual storyteller with a passion for film and television for as long as he can remember. He has a degree from UCLA Film School, but the formative experience in his professional career was when he worked at Roger Corman’s studio, the training ground for many famous filmmakers where he learned the ins and outs of physical production. There he made the leap from Production Assistant to Director in just a year and a half, helming his first feature SHADOW DANCER and episodes of the BLACK SCORPION television series for Syfy Channel.
Stanley has produced over a dozen film and television projects and is a member of the Producers Guild of America, shepherding them through various stages of development, fundraising, production, post-production, and distribution. Three features he produced are slated for release in 2025 – the action film DESERT DAWN (starring Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigandet), the horror film ARE YOU THERE?, and the Hitchcockian thriller SHIFT. His past credits include NYCTOPHOBIA, THE UNBIDDEN, the PSA “THE MYTH”, (ADCOLOR Awards’ Ad of the Year), and ETHAN MAO (Audience Award Winner at the Torino Gay and Lesbian Film Festival).
He has also worked as a freelance Story Analyst for HBO, combing through hundreds of screenplays, teleplays, novels, and nonfiction books, evaluating potential projects for development and writing analytical reports for studio executives.
A writer and director in his own right, Stanley has directed four features, including THE EXORCIST ARCHIVES and 2 BEDROOM 1 BATH (starring Dee Wallace and Eric Roberts), which he also wrote. He developed, produced, and directed the psychological thriller #1 SERIAL KILLER, which won Best Horror Feature at the Burbank International Film Festival and Breakthrough Performance Award at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. He produced and directed the online educational series MASTERING THE BUSINESS OF ACTING, part of the curriculum at Howard University’s Department of Theatre Arts and soon to be taught at prestigious acting programs around the country.
Stanley is currently producing the comedic web series THIS IS PARADISE: RACHEL IN L.A. and writing and developing several projects, including a historical musical drama set in 1940s San Francisco.
