About Me:
Eugene Rhee is an award-winning writer & producer based in Los Angeles. He produced the Hulu Original Film FLESH & BLOOD with Blumhouse Productions, which premiered to rave reviews as the second feature film in Hulu’s INTO THE DARK horror/thriller anthology. Eugene also co-wrote & co-executive produced the romantic comedy DESPITE EVERYTHING, one of the most watched Netflix Original Films of 2019. He was also a story consultant on FAST FIVE the fifth film in Universal Pictures’ FAST & FURIOUS film franchise.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Eugene received his M.F.A. from the U.S.C. School of Cinematic Arts’ prestigious Peter Stark Producing Program, graduating top of his class. He then worked briefly in production at 20th Century Fox before becoming a creative executive for producer Mace Neufeld (JACK RYAN, THE EQUALIZER).

As a writer, Eugene has sold or optioned projects to major companies including Netflix, Warner Bros., Fox and DreamWorks Animation, and he has also directed shorts and videos that have premiered at numerous film festivals including Sundance and Cinequest. Eugene previously won the Grand Prize in Europe’s largest screenplay competition (Shore Scripts), the top prize in the Producers Guild of America’s Power of Diversity Master Workshop, was a Universal Writers Program and Page International Awards Finalist and an IFP Emerging Narratives Fellow.

Eugene excels in script & story development, identifying projects with artistic & commercial potential, and cultivating relationships with writers, directors, actors and agents. He has successfully pitched and packaged projects to major industry stakeholders, and enjoys identifying strengths and weaknesses in screenplays, books & IP, to develop them for production. Eugene is interested in a variety of genres, from action-thrillers and sci-fi, to dramas, horror and romantic comedies. He loves both mainstream commercial entertainment as well as more personal stories, including those with unique characters and diverse points of view. Eugene is a Producers Guild of America Member.
